Research & Data Advisory for Action & Results: RADAR

The Research & Data Advisory for Action & Results: RADAR is a cross-departmental, collaborative group formed to advise and support the strategic use of data across the division of Health, Well-being, & Safety at UC Riverside. The board plays a crucial role in aligning data efforts with HWS’s strategic goals to enhance visibility, demonstrate impact, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning and wellness across campus. 

NATURE OF THE BOARD 
  • This is an advisory board. Members may be asked to assist with tasks directly or to help strategize how to get work done across the division. Contributions may include shaping survey tools, helping interpret trends, or recommending metrics that elevate departmental work and its relevance to student success and campus well-being. 
CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Advisory Leadership: Provide guidance on data collection, interpretation, and use that aligns with HWS priorities.
  • Strategic Integration: Align data efforts with the broader HWS Strategic Plan, focusing on equity, visibility, and impact. 
  • Capacity Building: Identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for data training, stewardship, and support across departments. 
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Develop strategies to address data-related challenges and promote the shared use of infrastructure and tools.
  • Visibility and Storytelling: Translate data into actionable insights, compelling visuals, and evidence-based narratives that highlight the value of HWS programs and services. 
GOAL
  • To use the power of data to elevate the visibility, impact, and reach of HWS programs—ultimately contributing to UCR’s campus-wide goals for equity, wellness, retention, and thriving student communities.
